Wild Boar restaurant to fill Decoy’s space in Hopkins | Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal.
A new bar and restaurant called Wild Boar plans to open in the former Decoy’s Grill & Bar space in downtown Hopkins in mid-March.
It will be a casual American pub with a menu heavy on burgers, chicken sandwiches and wings, according to Premier Restaurant Management Inc. owner Bob Carlson, who is serving as a consultant to Wild Boar owner Rick Eckert. Most items will cost between $7 and $10.
The bar plans to host live music at least two nights a week.
Building renovations are underway, targeting an opening date sometime between March 10 and March 16, pending city approvals. The Hopkins City Council is scheduled to consider Eckert’s application for a liquor license at its March 1 meeting.
Wild Boar replaces Decoy’s, which closed last June after a 10-year run. Eckert is leasing the 8,000-square-foot building at 1022 Mainstreet from The Bank of Elk River, which owns the property.
Eckert also owns Buffalo Bar and Grill in Buffalo, Minn., and Ciento Tequila Bar and Mexican Kitchen in Brooklyn Park.

GFS Model: -25 in metro Friday morning?
Posted at 5:33 PM on January 18, 2011 by Paul Huttner
Filed under: Cold, NOAA
“So how cold will it get this week Paul?
That’s the mantra question from friends and my colleagues at MPR this week.
Plenty cold is the answer….and maybe the coldest in many years by Friday morning. One wonders if you can really feel the difference between -20 and -25 anyway…or if you’d ever want to!
The GFS model is cranking out a temperature of -25 for MSP Airport Friday morning.

Dog poop. It’s a serious health problem. Why? Because it contains disease-carrying bacteria that can make people sick and pollute our waters. And because there are more than 50,000 people in Minnetonka, many of them dog owners. Do the math. Then do this.
Pick up after your pooch. Remind your neighbors to pick up after theirs. Good manners, great health policy.
Your dog can’t help it. But you can.
